Eco-friendly Wedding Educational Resources

As a Seattle wedding planner, I’ve put together a few resources from the eco-friendly wedding community to further your education on what a sustainable wedding can look like. Take what moves you and leave what doesn’t. These are resources and organizations that we come back to over and over again to further our own education.

Sustainably Wed Video Series

This is a fantastic series with 7 videos showcasing various aspects of wedding planning and how to think about them sustainably. I highly recommend watching at least a few of these episodes to set you on the right path.

Wedding Footprint Calculator

Once you have done a bit of research and have made some initial decisions on what your wedding day will look like, run your initial plans through this calculator and see what your score is. Your score may mean that you are on the right track or that you need to make some adjustments. No score is good or bad, but decide what number feels good to you and adjust as needed.

Emerald Hour Green Swaps Guide

Emerald Hour is a new organization in the Seattle area working to inspire and empower the wedding community to be more sustainable. They host an annual wedding show, have a member directory, provide workshops and continuing education for vendors and have a Green Swaps Guide for couples to use. It provides tips and tricks for ways to make your wedding more sustainable.
